2023 CEMETS Summer Institute - June 12-16, 2023

The 2023 CEMETS institute will be an in-person institute once again with a one-week live session in Zurich from June 12th to June 16th.

After three years of virtual institutes, we are so excited to be in-person again! We learned a lot from the virtual institutes, so we are introducing a new hybrid format that should make it easier for everyone to access and get the most out of the institute.

Register by February 28, 2023

Request the application form or ask any questions by emailing CEMETS Lab Director Dr. Katie Caves:

The CEMETS application process requires you to apply in a team. No individual applications are accepted.

Hybrid format March-September 2023

Online preparation will start on March 1, 2023. The online Moodle course and all of its content will be available until September 30, 2023.

You can watch lectures and absorb key concepts at your own speed, giving you more time to consider the material and leaving more time free for us to use on site visits and case work during the institute.

We have also shortened the institute to one five-day workweek so that busy participants can attend more easily.

Case workshops were very effective during the virtual institutes because they were spaced out over six months. Participants in 2023 will have the first case workshops in April 2023. Once everyone comes together, we will do second case workshops during the in-person session, so all cases can learn from each other's progress. Finally, after three months of implementation, we will close the institute with final case workshops in September 2023

Important Information

Participants are invited to attend in teams focused on a reform project or case. In-person teams are limited to 10 people for space reasons, but teams can add unlimited additional virtual participants. Virtual participants have access to the Moodle course content and case workshops but do not attend the in-person event in Zurich.

Institute fees are 10,000 CHF per person for teams of 1-2 people. For teams of 3-10 people, the fee is 8,000 CHF per person. Fees include everything except flights to Switzerland. Specifically, they include tuition, hotels, food, and local transportation. Participants must pay for their own travel to Switzerland.

Virtual-only fees are 2,500 CHF per person.
